In A Heartbeat Lipstick Swatch
Pure Flattery Lipglass swatch over In A Heartbeat Lipstick
Hey you! MAC are known for their amazing Limited Edition sets and this Christmas was no exception. They brought out so many amazing make up sets and I was lucky enough that Santa actually brought one for me to open on Christmas Day. I got the Divine Desire kit from the Fabulousness Collection and I got the kit in the shade Quite Coral which is perfect for me! The kit includes five items: blusher brush 129SE, powder blush in Born To Love, Cremesheen lipstick in In A Heartbeat, Lipglass in Pure Flattery and Technakohl Liner in Photogravure. The kit also comes inside a big container with a peach satin cover and with a black bow on the front. I love this container because you can actually take the tray out and use it as a clutch bag or for storage! All items are full-size except the blush, which is still a good enough size for me!
I can't really say much about the brush other than it feels a little bit scratchy and I find that it collects too much product compared to a softer brush. I don't own any other MAC brushes but if this is similar to their main collection then I'll make do with the brushes I already have.
Born To Love is a gorgeous coral blush with gold shimmer (it has a Frost finish) that is wonderfully pigmented and blends in well. When applied with the brush from this collection I found that I had to powder over the blush to soften it a bit, but I do have ridiculously pale skin right now. I can imagine this will also look gorgeous with a slight tan. I can't fault this blush, I find myself reaching for it most days (it's in rotation with a few of my other MAC blushers - I'm just loving them at the minute)!
In A Heartbeat is a Cremesheen formula lipstick and comes in the glossy limited edition packaging. Cremesheen is my favourite finish; it's creamy, smooth and highly pigmented. It's very peach coloured, with a hint of a pink tint. It reminds me slightly of Topshop's Whimsical but less on the orange side.
Pure Flattery is a warm peach lipglass with pieces of small shimmer. It's non-sticky on the lips but has great staying power and is very pigmented for a lipgloss. It's almost opaque! This is, ashamedly, my first Lipglass but after this I intend to purchase more. I'm such a lipgloss convert now.
Photogravure is a very dark chocolate brown eyeliner that can be twisted up when it has worn down (so glad I won't have to get my pencil sharpener out again). I find it's quite hard to apply to the waterline, I usually like an eyeliner that glides on smoothly but I find I have to keep drawing this on over again until I get a colour pay off. When it's applied to the eyelid or just below the waterline it applies easily, however.
I know these items are limited edition but we all know MAC like to re-release some of their limited edition products so maybe you'll see these in stores again in a few years?
Overall, I love how these products look when worn with each other, it gives me such a healthy, warm glow and I think they'll look lovely when the sun starts coming out again!
