Hello everyone. I recently treated myself to a couple of items from Mac's new collection Apres Chic. I just can't help myself when they release a new collection, I'm such an addict! I intended to pick up the hugely hyped Mineralize Skin Finish in Stereo Rose but found it was sold out. I chose the Mineralize Blush in Gentle instead and I'm really glad I did. A lot of people have reviewed Stereo Rose saying it's so beautiful but really difficult to wear. Gentle is such a beautiful raspberry coloured blusher with gold shimmer. When swatched I think it looks very similar to NARS' Orgasm blusher, or is that just me? It is highly pigmented, and I wasn't really expecting it! I used a moderate amount on my brush and my cheeks were bright pink, I had to rub a lot off before I took these photos. Next time I'll remember less is best and what's more, it'll last me longer! I really love Mac blushers - I have another to review and I love these two both so much. I can see me wearing this everyday until I find a new blusher obsession.
The other item I picked up from the Apres Chic collection is the Amplified Lipstick in Haute Altitude which is described as a midtone blue pink, if that helps. The swatch on the website looks very brown, and similar to a lipstick my mum might have worn in the 90s or something! Thankfully, it looks so much better in real life. It's a very natural rose colour and looks amazing with my skin tone (or so I think). On the lip it reminds me of Topshop's Innocent which is one of my favourite daytime lipsticks, so this is a firm favourite. Will I go as far as saying it's my new favourite? Maybe! Amplified is a great finish, very soft and moisturising with an amazing pigmentation. I'll definitely be purchasing some more.
